Hisaab
Urdu bookkeeping app for small retailers — 6,000 shops track credit and cash daily.
The business
Problem. Small shopkeepers run credit ledgers in paper registers — money gets lost, disputes are constant, and no formal lender will touch a business with no records.
Solution. A dead-simple Urdu app for udhaar tracking, daily cash tally and automatic WhatsApp payment reminders to customers. Works offline, syncs when connected.
Model. Freemium: core ledger free, PKR 500/month for reminders, reports and multi-user. Transaction data (with consent) powers a lending-referral pipeline with two partner fintechs.
Market. 2M+ small retailers nationwide; 300,000 in Karachi alone.
Competition. Paper registers and two regional ledger apps. Retention is the battleground — ours is 64% at month 6.
